The Kansas Highway Patrol has released it’s Christmas holiday activity report for Christmas Eve through Christmas day. According to the report, nearly every category was down.

DUI arrests down by nearly half, speed citations down nearly 80%, from just over 1,000 in 2018 to just 232 in 2019. Also, significantly down were seatbelt citations, down from 109 in 2018 to only 21 this year. Motorist assists were significantly down also.

The Kansas Highway Patrol indicates that the nice warm weather may have had something to do with it, along with the increased public campaigns against drinking and driving and the importance of wearing seat belts. The KHP says they hope everyone continues to heed the warnings and slow down, don’t drink and drive at any time!
