If you could describe this year’s growing season in one word, you might say, wet. Not only did we see a lot of rain spread out over many different events, it also came in large quantities. Frontier Extension Agent Darren Hibdon says it created some unique situations for local farmers as May fields were under water as many as 8 times.
He adds that the fall harvest came on, it was pleasantly surprising, with field conditions for the most part dry.
