One of the big events in Ottawa last year was the hiring of a new, yet familiar police chief. With Chief Butler’s departure and his promotion to chief mid year, Ottawa Police Chief Adam Weingartner has had a big year. He says his promotion led to others within the department.
He added that they are looking to hire up to seven new officers and send them to the state academy in Hutchinson to become certified and back here on duty for more training.
