Franklin County Public Works has closed the 3500 to 3700 blocks of Haskell Road to through traffic until further notice. The closure is due to a hole in the low water crossing that continues to get worse and worse, despite repeated patching and repair efforts. Officials from the County Works Department say the continuous flow of water through the creek has undermined the low water crossing, causing surface failure. The Road and Bridge Division is consulting with a bridge engineer to develop a permanent solution to the problem, which will likely involve removing all or part of the structure and reconstructing the crossing it its entirety. KOFO will keep you posted on any updates to the situation.
