The Ottawa Police Department is always looking for new officers to fill the ranks in the department and this year will be no different. The department just received their official accreditation from the commission on accreditation for law enforcement agencies, or CALEA, and will be asking new officers to uphold and enforce those standards. He adds that last year, crime in Ottawa was nearly the same as the previous year and he would like to see those numbers dip downward this year.
