A former Ottawa High School teacher was in Franklin County District Court yesterday. Brian Hutton is facing charges of sexual exploitation of a child using an electronic device. The court heard testimony from the alleged victim, who was 17 at the time he was in Ottawa High School. The victim testified he was a student in Hutton’s senior English class, and Hutton gave an assignment that required making up a resume. We get more from KOFO’s Milton Ammel.
On cross examination by defense attorney, Tom Lemon, Officer Goodwin admitted that a phone seized from Hutton contained no text messages involved in the case, nor did several other electronic devices also examined by authorities. Judge Shannon Rush did find probable cause in the case and bound Hutton over for trial. An arraignment is scheduled for March 2nd. A trial date is expected to be set at that time.
