The Ottawa City Commission placed a resolution on the agenda for it’s next meeting regarding accreditation of the Ottawa Police Department by CALEA, the agency that accredits police departments. Police Chief Adam Weingartner explained the resolution.
Weingartner states that the police department will be working on completing the CALEA sixth edition standards, which are updates to the current standards by mid year. Ottawa is one of only 10 police agencies in the state that are accredited.
