After months of waiting and anticipation, the North Dollar General opened today. The store was heavily damaged by flood waters on August 1st. The stores sat empty for several weeks before crews went in and took everything out. The past few months renovation crews have replaced the shelving, painted the walls and done many other things to get the building back to where they can open again. The past few days, shelves were stocked and employees were trained. Although, the Dollar General corporate office would not comment on when the store would actually have it’s first day of business, the store is open today.
According to Dollar General Public Relations Representative Angela Petkovic, there is a grand opening planned for January 25th to welcome the community back to the store. No details of that grand opening celebration have been released. However, Petkovic did say a media release one week before the grand opening would include some details.
