The Ottawa City Commission is expected to approve an ordinance at its meeting on Wednesday that addresses people who install solar or other electrical generating equipment at their home. Ottawa utilities Director Dennis Tharp says it’s a matter of safety.
Tharp says he’s aware of only six customers in Ottawa who have generating equipment, and so there would be almost no impact on most electric customers.
