O-Town reads kick off their 2020 community reading campaign in a big way tonight. The book this year is titled “No Other Home.” The author is Sporting KC soccer team captain, Matt Beslar. Beslar says when he decided to write a book, the challenging part was deciding who he was writing for. He didn’t want to write just for kids, or just for soccer fans and adults. There were so many people involved in his soccer journey from his parents to coaches to good friends, he wanted to write for everyone.
Beslar says he was honored and humbled to have his book chosen for this year’s O-Town reads program. He will be in town tonight, giving a presentation for O-Town reads. It will be tonight at 6 at the Ottawa Memorial Auditorium. The library will have free copies of the book and t-shirts to purchase.
