More innovation and housing coming to the Downtown area. Ottawa University has announced the are partnering with Josh Walker to develop off campus housing for students in the historic Halloren Building at 401 South Main. Walker has renovated the building to include the Corner Market Cafe and the Gallery at the Halloren on the lower level of the building. The upper level as been vacant since Modo-O-Day closed in the 80’s. Walker says housing was on his mind from the beginning.
Each suite will be fully equipped with modern amenities, including a kitchenette, living area, laundry room, storage space, and a bathroom for every two beds. Architectural features will include high ceilings, polished concrete floors, exposed brick and large windows. The suites are scheduled for completion and students will tentatively be able to move in during the Summer and Fall terms.
