School Board members in USD 365 last week approved a $187,000 capital outlay purchase to replace bleachers in the Anderson County High School gymnasium. Superintendent Don Blome says the project will replace both the east and west rows of bleachers in the gym and was expected to be completed this Summer. The cost also included the dismantling and haul away of the old bleachers. The present bleachers were included in the original construction of the school in 1992.
The School Board took care of some other business at the meeting, including recognizing the high school FACS teacher, Heather Corley, who received the Horizon Award. The award recognizes first year teachers for their outstanding teaching skills.
The Board also voted to extend Blome’s contract one more year.
