The annual Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration in Ottawa was yesterday afternoon at the Ottawa Memorial Auditorium. The festivities include reading from the winning essays featuring local students who have been hard at work learning about King. The first place winner from Ottawa High School was Alivia Sharp. She says it’s important to inspire everyone.
She added that King spent nearly his entire life defending the freedoms that all Americans should have had from the beginning and her goal is to work just as hard to defend her freedoms.
