An Anderson County High School teacher has picked up an award from the Kansas Department of Education. First year teacher Heather Corley has been announced as a Region two winner of the Kansas Horizon Award. Thirty two first year teachers from all across the State were recognized for their outstanding teaching skills. Corley will be honored at a special ceremony during the Kansas Exemplary Educators Network Stae Education Conference on February 14th, in Topeka. The Kansas Horizon Award Program is sponsored by KSDE and allows all school districts in the State the opportunity to nominate two teachers, one elementary and one secondary, for the award. In order to be eligible for the award, teachers must have successfully completed their first year of teaching and have performed in an outstanding manner. Congratulations.
