An accident just after 7 this morning on K-69, a half mile east of K-33 has claimed the lives of two Rantoul residents. 67 year old James Tracy of Rantoul, was traveling eastbound on K-68 highway about eight miles east of Ottawa and lost control of his vehicle and struck the steel guard rail. The vehicle then veered off into the westbound lane of traffic. It was struck broadside on the passenger side by a vehicle driven by 40 year old Erica Drinkard of Paola. Tracy and a passenger in his vehicle, 14 year old Harry Ray Mock of Rantoul died in the accident. Drinkard was taken to Overland Park Regional Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
K-68 was closed until about 11: 00 this morning as authorities investigated the accident.
