A former Ottawan who graduated from Ottawa High School and Ottawa University and became an integral part of how the University has been shaped over the years, has died. Marvin Wilson graduated from Ottawa High School 1956 and attended OU where he received his BS Degree in 1960. He went on to receive a Medical Doctorate Degree from Howard University Medical College. He began his medical practice in Topeka in 1971 and then managed the first noninvasive vascular laboratory between Denver and Saint Louis from 1978 to 1997. He went on to do extensive research in prostrate cancer. He was also the founder and owner of KTPK FM radio in Topeka from 1974 to 1980.
In 1997 he was honored on the Ottawa High Wall of Honor and joined the Ottawa University Board Facilities Committee where he played a great role in designing and supervising the building of the Braves Athletic Hall of Fame, which he was a member, in the Hull Center. OU Chancellor Kevin Eichner says Wilson loved beautifying the Ottawa Campus and was very excited about the new Hall of Fame Space in the new Press Box at Advent Health Field
