The Civilian Conservation Corps Camp in Franklin County ran from 1935 to 1942 and it provided work for many unemployed men. Tod Bevitt ,of Buried Past Consulting, says the militry ran the CCC Camps, but no military training was given.
Bevitt says men at the CCC Camps built roads, ponds, planted trees and did other work to preserve the land. Bevitt spoke at the annual gathering of the Franklin County Historical Society
