What were things like in Franklin County in the 1930’s? For one thing, the local area was affected by the Great Depression, as indeed was the whole Country. Tod Bevitt of Buried Past Consulting says there were several Civilian Conservation Corps Camps in the area:
The Civilian Conservation Corps was part of the New Deal Program designed to put unemployed men to work. Bevitt was the featured speaker at the annual gathering of the Franklin County Historical society held yesterday.
