The Crest School Board took a look at building improvements last week during the first meeting of the new year and adopted a Capital Outlay Resolution to allow the district to raise funds for such future projects. Superintendent Shane Walter says while the resolution authorizes the District to levy taxes for use in capital outlay projects, it doesn’t necessarily mean the Board plans to implement an increased levy. He says the Board listened to a presentation of flooring improvements then discussed gym bleachers, playground equipment, and shop improvements utilizing existing funds from Capital Outlay and they are gathering bids to create a Summer Project scope. They will continue the discussion next month and nothing has been finalized yet. Other projects discussed included painting the school’s exterior, asbestos removal and installation of air conditioning in the gymnasium.
