Though most of the political news these days seems to come out of Washington, D. C., it’s important to note that the upcoming 2020 Election will include offices from local city posts and County posts, all the way to the Presidency.

The Anderson County Treasurer is elected to a four-year term.  As custodian for County funds, the County Treasurer receives money due the State and collects ad valorem property taxes for tax-levying jurisdictions in the County and distributes it according to the levies made by the local units of government; pays our County funds upon proper authorization of the County Commissioners, collects automobile registration and sends the money to the State, and issues other licenses.  The Anderson County Treasurer is Dena McDaniel and she receives a salary of about $48,800 annually for Treasurer, $8,895 annually for commercial trucks and approximately $10,578 annually for motor vehicle.
