The amount of State funding for public health is way too low, but health officials hope to do something about it. Franklin County Health Director, Midge Ransom, says they’ve been waiting a long time:
Ransom says many years ago, public health advocates had an understanding they wouldn’t go to the Legislature for at least five years with funding requests, but no one foresaw the five years would turn into 30 years.
