Ottawa University has seen a lot of pretty awesome things in it’s storied history, but Mike Doug Day was one of those that will live in the hearts and minds forever for those who were there. The day was in honor of Ottawa University senior Michael Douglas. He has a rare lung disease that has prevented him from playing basketball, but not being a huge part of the team. A packed Wilson Field House saw Douglas’ debut in the starting lineup that day. OU Campus President Dr. Reggies Wenyika describes the atmosphere that day.
The highlight of the day, Douglas scored a basket as time expired in OU’s victory over Saint Mary. The team raised over $2,500 for the fight against rare lung disease that night.
