The “We’ve Got Talent Show” last week presented by the Paola Optimist Club was quite a show. Over 20 contestants sang, danced, and played a variety of instruments to the delight of the packed house at Paola Middle School. In the end it was Emmarie and Avery Green who danced their way to first place in the People’s Choice Award, and the Show Stopper Award. They performed a dance routine to “Travel Song”, and have danced together for the last three years. The runner up in the Show Stopper Award was Ruth Simons who did a ballet routine to Christian Singer Lauren Daigle’s song “You Say.” Aliya Hall tap danced her way to second place in the People’s Choice Award to the music of “On Top of the World”. Shannera McCoy placed third in the Show Stopper Award with her interpretive ballet routine with a thriller-like interpretation to “I will survive”.
The Paola Optimist Club is celebrating it’s 50th Anniversary this year. Club President Ron Sullivan says he is proud of all the participants.
