The Franklin County United Way emergency, temporary shelter will be open tonight and tomorrow night. The weather will be bitterly cold and they will have a safe, warm place with a hot meal available. Please, please put the word out to anyone who will not have a warm place to be. Loan them a phone, tell them to ask the hospital, library, fire department, police department, health department, DCF, ECKAN, Hope House or Elizabeth Layton Center to call 211 to help get shelter in Franklin County. The shelter needs to prepare for people in need and provide transportation to the shelter, so it is an absolute must to call by 5:00 this afternoon so they can prepare enough food, beds and transportation. Again, the Emergency Shelter will be open tonight and tomorrow night. Please call 211 if you need shelter on either night.
