With all the talk about property tax in local government and in the Kansas Legislature, the question on many peoples minds is, if the tax levy went down, why am I paying more taxes? One of the bills in he Kansas Legislature addresses the issue of making property tax increases more transparent by requiring local governments to mail out information when they are wanting to increase taxes. Critics worry that the cost of mailing the notifications would be too much.
