Kansas Governor Laura Kelly says the state can repair the state’s roads and revive some highway construction without raising taxes. Governor Kelly says the state can devote $10 billion to transportation needs, if lawmakers stop tapping into the Highway Fund to pay for other things. Governor Kelly has pledged to close the “Bank of K-Dot” and make sure funding for transportation is spent on transportation. She also has promised to finish many projects abandoned during a budget crisis that followed the Brownback tax cuts.
