The United Way Emergency Temporary Shelter will be open tonight and tomorrow night, as winter precipitation is expected tonight and temperatures fall into the teens. If you or anyone you know needs shelter from the cold the next two nights, please call 2-1-1 to get registered. They will have a safe, warm place with a hot meal available. Don’t have a phone? Franklin County United Way Director Leigh Hanson says you can also contact any Public Agency, like the Police Department, Fire Department, Library, ECKAN, and many others, and let them know you need shelter and they can make the call for you. She adds that it is very important to call before 5:00 each night to get registered so they can provide transportation and make sure the Shelter has food and bedding for those in need. Again, the Franklin County Emergency Shelter will be open tonight and tomorrow. If you need shelter from the cold, don’t be afraid to ask for help. Call 2-1-1 before 5:00 this afternoon to get registered.
