The Ottawa City Commission has approved an agreement that should help strengthen fire protection for residents who live in and near Ottawa. The Automatic Aid Agreement is between the Ottawa Fire Department and the LOH Fire Department. Fire Chief Tim Matthias says the agreement is activated only on major fires.
Mathias says that at times there are only four firefighters on duty and this agreement will provide more manpower when it is critically needed.
