Two of the favorite events of Summer time in Paola, the “Music on the Square” and the Paola Farmers Market, will be combined into one event this Summer. The Miami County Arts Coalition, Paola Lions Club and Discover Historic Paola have merged to create the new event, called “Music and the Market”. The new event will be on Saturday evenings from May 16th through August 22nd. Officials say the goal is to increase attendance for both events and make the Market unique and attract people from neighboring towns. Also, it will allow local farmers and citizens a way to come together for fresh, local produce, while listening to local musicians and taking advantage of our beautiful Town Square.
The Market was handed over to the new Discover Historic Paola group last year. It’s a volunteer organization of like-minded business owners who meet weekly and are working toward making Paola a place that inspires neighborhood experiences, and fosters social engagement through innovative activities.
