A meeting between State Senator Caryn Tyson and officials of the Ottawa School District may have sparked a realization of the need to have more computer education in more schools in Kansas. The meeting stemmed from a comment by Tyson that most schools in Kansas lack computer education for students, and a challenge from Superintendent Dr. Ryan Cobbs for Tyson to come see what Ottawa has to offer. During a meeting at Otawa High School, Tyson clarified what she meant by her comment:
Cobbs says it takes a lot of work and cooperation to share programs with other school districts so that all students benefit in the long run.
