The City of Ottawa is advising the public about a recent incident in which the city’s water supply incurred a sample violation as defined by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. Ottawa Utilities Director, Dennis Tharp, says water safety was never compromised:
Tharp says a one time sample violation in itself doesn’t endanger public health, but a long-term violation could cause problems. However, Tharp says the problem has been corrected and future samples are expected to be within safe guidelines.
