Last year, a group of Ottawa High School students entered a pedal car in competition at World of Wheels, one of the most prestigious car shows in the area. They got second place. All the other competitors were colleges and tech universities. Because they were so good, the Ottawa group was also invited to participate in the “real” car competition this year, an honor that is almost exclusively reserved to bigger colleges and technical schools. The juniors and senior students in Mr. Menefee’s class are: Justin Circle, Jacob Jones, Cylar Guilfoyle, Brandon Schreffler, Michael Ramsey, Joe Lantis, James Burton, and Kevin Burton. Many other students put time in on the car also.
