Want to get to know Ottawa police officers little better? The Ottawa Police Department’s new “Coffee With a Cop” program might help you do that. The program kicked off yesterday with coffee at Mug Shots and this morning there is another at Corner Market. Ottawa Police Chief, Adam Weingartner, says the Ottawa Police Foundation has made the program possible:
The goal is to have the people of Ottawa get to know their police officers a little better. Weingartner says he hopes people will see more officers out of their cars and in the community. You an mingle with officers, grab a good cup of coffee this morning from 8:00 to 9:00 at the Corner Market.
Head on down and hang out with the officers, there’s plenty of time. I’ve heard several officers on the scanner go on “special assignment” at Corner Market the last few minutes.
