Miami County has a repeat champion. Last year’s winner, Louisburg 8th grader, Blake Amren defended his crown at the Miami County spelling bee recently. It took 30 rounds of competition against 15 other top spellers from throughout the county, but in the end, Blake was once again the last man standing. The winning words were, “corgi” and “fabulist.”
Blake is a four time county spelling bee champion, winning it all for the first time as a third grader, repeating as a fifth grader, then back to back the past two years. He will represent Miami County in the Sunflower State Spelling Bee on March 21st at Newman University in Wichita.
