This month, the Kansas Highway Patrol Training Academy will be undergoing an on-site assessment by the commission on accreditation for law enforcement agencies, known as CALEA, as part of the agency’s goal to become an accredited law enforcement agency. The public is invited to express their feelings toward the patrol, and the agency encourages the public to take the opportunity to provide feedback.

The assessment will verify that the KHP meets over 189 state of the art standards. Once the review is completed, full findings will be reported back to the commission, who will then decide if the agency is to be granted accredited status.

After the Kansas Highway Patrol completes their accreditation process, accreditation is granted for four years. If you would like to comment or send a written statement, give us a call at KOFO and we will get the right numbers and addresses for you.
