The state’s February total tax collections came into the Kansas Department of Revenue at $448.3 million, over $63 million more than estimated. These collections are over $17 million more than February of last year. Individual income taxes saw a $30.5 million increase, 27% more than last February. Corporate income tax collections were 10% above the estimate compared to February 2019,
Revenues from delinquent tax collections, included in February receipts, have also increased substantially this fiscal year. Individual income and withholding represent a majority of total delinquent collections and Sales and Use tax represent another large chunk.
Retail sales tax collections and compensating use tax collections were also up significantly over last year.
