Today is the first friday of the month and that means it’s time for the First Friday Forum, hosted by the Ottawa area Chamber of Commerce.  Today’s forum will feature Census Outreach Manager of the League of Kansas Municipalities, Wendi Stark.  She will present some facts and figures about the census and provide information on how the general public can become a census worker and give a history of the census.  The founders of our great Nation wrote in the Constitution that a census would be taken every 10 years and it is vitally important to make sure every household in Ottawa is counted correctly.  An undercount means our Community could miss out on over $49 thousand in federal funding for every household that is missed in the 2020 Census.  Ensure that you count, Ottawa counts, and Kansas counts on the census.  Find out more at the First Friday Forum.  It will be held this morning at Neosho County Community College.  As always, the event is free and you are welcome to attend.
