Another sign of spring is the start of daylight savings time. And….that starts this weekend. With the time change, not only do we gain an hour of sunlight, but also, we need to think about changing the batteries or replacing the smoke detectors in our house. Ottawa fire chief Tim Mathias says they offer them at no charge
He adds that if you like the fire department will come out and inspect your house and let you know exactly where to place them and then install them for you.
Daylight savings time officially start at 2 tomorrow morning, so make sure you set your clocks ahead one hour before you go to bed tonight.
