A meeting was held Thursday with officials from numerous departments within Franklin County and surrounding communities.  Franklin County Health Department Director, Midge Ransom, led the discussion and gave an update on the latest information about the spread of the covid-19 virus.  She gave the crowd examples of how to prevent the spread of the virus.  One thing she mentioned is quarantine.  Ransom says that quarantines are legally enforceable.  She noted that the United States is quarantining people who come back from areas that are known to have issues, but on a county level, it could get difficult:

One other thing she emphasized was social distancing.  Avoiding large crowds, maintaining physical distances from others and providing physical barriers from people important to businesses with a lot of people coming in and out.

With so many activities being cancelled due to the disaster emergency, we encourage you to visit the cancellation page at KOFO,.com for updated information.
