Pi Kappa Delta is the oldest and most prestigious National Speech and Debate organization, was founded in Ottawa in 1913, will host its first ever Historical Gala, celebrating the newly designated National Archives at Ottawa University. Renowned scholars from around the Country will present original research, including how collegiate speech and debate activities have contributed to National and International affairs.
Pi Kappa Delta President-elect and Associate Professor at Ottawa University, Dr. Ryan Louis, says the weekend will officially unveil the National Archives to the public:
The event called, “The Art of Persuasion: From Ottawa to the World, 1913 to 2020” starts with the Grand Opening, Friday evening at the Old Depot Museum from 6:30 to 8:30.
Festivities will continue on Saturday morning with four educational panels starting at 10:00. Those will be followed by three performance showcases and dinner. It is open to the public. For more information contact Ottawa University.
