Kansas has its first official death due to the coronavirus, leading Governor Kelly to declare a State of Disaster in Kansas.  The man who died was in his 70’s, from Wyandotte County and was living in a long care facility, with other underlying health conditions.  Governor Kelly says her staff at the Kansas Department of Health and Environment and the Department of Aging are working hard to stop the spread of the virus and find out who the man had contact with the past two weeks.

She added that it is not a time to panic, but to continue to use common sense and hygiene.  Wash your hands frequently, cough or sneeze into your arm and avoid large crowds.  She indicated there would be more information released this morning.
