More victims of the coronavirus pandemic. The Ottawa Library has decided to close its doors. The closure is effective immediately and will last the rest of the week. They will reassess on Friday to determine if further measures are warranted. Library staff reports that all programs and events for the week are cancelled. Library officials said the decision was not made lightly. They see themselves as a vital service to the community, but public health must take priority at this time. Items currently checked out and due back during the closure will have due dates extended. Items may still be returned through the drop box outside the front of the building. Also, all AARP tax sessions have been cancelled nationwide. If you were scheduled to meet a tax assistant, you will be notified.
Also, Ottawa’s Plaza Cinema announced yesterday that they are closed to the general public, in response to the President indicating not more than 10 people should be gathered in the same place. They indicate they will open as soon as possible and will announce the reopening,
