The Wellsville police officer killed in a traffic accident Saturday morning was on his way to work. According to the Topeka Capital-Journal, 30-year-old Bryon Virtue was travelling eastbound on north 800 road in Douglas county when a vehicle driven by 61-year-old Jewell Anthony of Topeka crossed into the eastbound lane and struck Virtue head-on. The crash killed both drivers. The Douglas county sheriff’s office continues to investigate the accident. Services for officer Virtue are still pending.
