Franklin County is now under a “Stay at Home” Order. In a continued effort to slow the spread of COVID-19, last night Franklin County Health Officer, Dr. Bud Ranson, issued the order. It will go into effect a midnight tonight and be in place for 30 days. The order closes all non-essential businesses in the county.
Those vulnerable to the virus, including the elderly and those with underlying health conditions are urged to stay at home. All area residents should stay at home, except to perform essential duties for business: get food, care for a relative or friend, get necessary health care or do activities to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Those that have the ability and access to work from home should do so. Under the Order, stores that sell groceries, gas stations, banks and many other businesses that provide essential services, will remain open.
Ransom reiterates the need for all people to continue following the guidelines set forth by Health Officials: wash hands thoroughly after any interaction with the public, including handling money, cough and sneeze into your sleeve, and most importantly, practice Social Distancing by keeping a six foot space between people you interact with.
Repeating, Franklin County will go under a Stay At Home Order, beginning at midnight tonight.
