The ink has not even had time to dry and scammers are after your stimulus money. You have probably heard of a possible check headed your way from the Federal Government, once Congress decides on the exact form and amount that will take.
The fact that the program has not been passed yet has not slowed scammers. As we wait and see how it will work, the Better Business Bureau has a warning for people. Jim West has the story:
DO NOT, under any circumstances, give your banking information in a text or over the phone. The government or bank will not call, text or email you about these checks. They will be automatically deposited in your bank account.
