Within 48 hours of Governor Laura Kelly announcing the establishment of the Hospitality Industry Relief Emergency Fund, all $5 million allocated for the Loan program were awarded.

Locally, several Ottawa businesses were awarded funding, including Pizza Village, Not Lost Brewery, Buck U Distillery and Sid and Nancy’s.

Other area businesses securing the money include Neighbors in Baldwin, Hotel Garnett in Garnett and Shub Investments in Garnett.

Governor Kelly says she realizes many Kansas Businesses are struggling right now and the $5 million doesn’t come close to making up the losses in the hospitality field and they will try to use more funds to help others.  There are no funds available right now, but businesses are encouraged to complete applications should there be money available in the future.
