The Anderson County Emergency Management Department wants citizens of Anderson county to know there has been no positive cases of COVID-19 in Anderson county. Emergency management director J.D. Mersman says there is no reason to panic over the Governors order to stay at home, this is not house arrest or a lockdown, just a measure designed to slow the spread of the virus.

Mersman was speaking at the Garnett church of the Nazarene, answering questions on the minds of Anderson county residents.

He encourages people not to call 911 with questions concerning the pandemic. They have a complete list of frequently asked questions on their Facebook page, along with the complete order and a list of essential businesses. He also says the importance of following the guideline of social distancing is very important. He says if people have questions they can call and ask or go to the Anderson county emergency management Facebook page or the Garnett area chamber of commerce Facebook page, where the entire interview is posted
