The Lawrence-Douglas County Public Health Department has 22 positive cases of COVID-19. They said that 17 of those are travel related, while five are local transmissions. There are 14 males, and 8 females with an age range from 10 to 79. Fifteen of the 22 cases are between the ages of 20 and 40 years old.
Given that they have local transmission in the County, the likelihood of more cases is high, and the Health Department is working closely with the cities of Eudora, Baldwin City and LeCompton, in addition to schools and Universities and Law Enforcement Agencies to protect the safety and well being of all residents. They are highly encouraging social distancing and would like people to stay at home and away from crowds and follow the statewide Stay At Home Order.
