This past weekend people were out and about like any other day of the year. The Stay At Home Order and the recommendations from the CDC to wear masks in public seemed to be forgotten. Families crowded WalMart, groups of kids wandered the store, very few people wore masks, and, just from personal experience, social distancing was not practiced very well.
City Manager, Richard Nienstedt, noticed the same thing and he says now is not the time to back off the safety guidelines. He has a message to Ottawans:
We are in a critical stretch in flattening the curve of the virus and it is vitally important to follow the guidelines of the Stay At Home Order the next couple of weeks. City Officials appreciate all the cooperation so far.
