At a very long Garnett City Commission meeting last night. The commissioners discussed a variety of topics concerning the community’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, including the fact that Anderson county still does not have any reported cases of COVID-19. Anderson county hospital CEO Rich McCain told commissioners that the hospital acted very early to mitigate the possible spread of the disease in the county. First, the implemented a no visitors policy at the local nursing homes and the hospital. He did say there are some exceptions to the rule at the hospital.

He added that they are screening everyone who comes into the hospital and giving everyone a mask. Also, they have reduced the number of entrances into the facility and reduced the number of hours the doors are open.
